Abstract This chapter of the History of AFSWP has been based prinicipally on the two semiannual compilations of the 'Sandia Base History' for the year 1949, one covering the period from 1 January 1949 to 1 July 1949 and the other covering the period for 1 July 1949 to 1 January 1950. The histories of Site Baker and Site Charlie were combined with the two seminannual histories of the Base itself, have not been included in this chapter but will be found in Chapter 5.
