Abstract	The Special Operations Response Team (SORT) Guidebook has been developed as a guideline for standardized training for all SORT's. As such, this guide is to provide each team with basic information which in some cases, may need to be expanded upon to fit the specific needs of your institution. In some cases, the information provided may not be applicable to your institution but is necessary in the event your team is deployed to another Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facility. This guide shall ensure teams meeting for the first time will have enough common knowledge to work together for the successful resolution of an emergency. Each team is encouraged to seek out additional resources whenever possible and to make changes where necessary to fit specific needs. When changes are developed locally, the Region and Central Office shall be informed of proposed changes. Where applicable, this information shall then be passed on to other teams.
