Abstract |
Activities of the Educational Resource Center at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental health for the period July 1992 through June 1995 were described. Several goals were established under these grants for the Rocky Mountain Center. These goals included maintaining and expanding nationally recognized Occupational and Environmental Health Studies (OEHS) programs, establishing the Rocky Mountain Center as an international OEHS educational resource center, providing OEHS research training programs, expanding center outreach activities, and expanding the research activities of the center as well. Regarding the expansion of the educational program, five academic courses were added to the curriculum and all other courses were reviewed and modifications incorporated. Over 5,686 students attended the programs and 119 new courses were added to the continuing education curriculum. As part of the educational resource center activities and occupational and environmental health program, short courses were offered in Mexico, Finland, Indonesia, Panama, and Columbia. Research training programs were advanced in nursing informatics. Outreach activities included interactions with academic institutions in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and others. A major research program was initiated to study the health effects of exposure to atmospheric pollutants. |
