Abstract |
Activities of the Southern California Educational Resource Center (ERC) for the 5 year period between 1989 and 1994 were described. The ERC has provided educational and academic training in occupational medicine, industrial hygiene, occupational safety and occupational health nursing. These disciplines were centered at the University of Southern California, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the University of California at Irvine School of Medicine. The ERC also provided a comprehensive range of continuing education and outreach activities. Many of the activities were interdisciplinary, which enhanced training and provides opportunities for the students to understand the roles and responsibilities of other professionals involved in the occupational health and safety arena. Facilities included classrooms, laboratories, clinical facilities, offices, extensive library services and a full range of computing capabilities. Information was provided on the number of students participating in each program for each year, and the number of studients receiving degrees in each program. |
