Abstract The purpose of the effort was to better prepare undergraduate and graduate level students entering the field of occupational safety and health. The primary focus of this grant was to increase the involvement of the internship supervisors in visiting intern sites, and observing and improving relationships between the employer and the intern. During the 1994 to 1995 school year, over 100 interns and co ops were placed into service. The second focus of the grant was to develop seminars and training center programs which were aimed at addressing current occupational safety and health issues. The third focus was the development of ongoing faculty professional growth so that individuals would remain abreast of changes occurring in this field. Support was sought for students in undergraduate and graduate studies to provide textbook allowances, stipends, and travel compensation. Improvements and upgrades were attempted in both laboratory and computer equipment.
