NIOSH Posthearing Comments from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Proposed Rule on Occupational Exposure to Methylene Chloride by J. D. Millar, January 14, 1993.

PB95200432

Publication Date 1993
Page Count 18
Abstract This testimony summarizes information provided to clarify earlier testimony related to methylene chloride (75092) exposures. An error made in earlier testimony concerning confidence interval determination is discussed. During a study on methylene chloride exposure in rats, nervous system damage was recorded, but this cannot be extrapolated to help predict the effects of shorter exposure at lower concentration in humans. With regard to questions concerning the effects of carbon monoxide (630080) on human and animal performance reported in various studies, NIOSH was not able to offer any further clarification of the issue.
