Abstract	A team of NIOSH industrial hygienists surveyed the Ideal Cement facility in Okay, Arkansas as part of a study of the effects of materials found in Portland Cement facilities on the human respiratory system. Respirable and total dust levels for most of the jobs at this facility were below recommended exposure levels. One sample from a conveyor operator exceeded recommended limits for total nuisance particulate of 10mg/m3. Detectable levels of quartz (14808607) were found in four samples from workers associated with raw materials. The author concludes that the facility is providing a healthful work environment for its employees and that no specific corrective actions were needed or recommended.
