Abstract	The Bureau of Mines publication provides locational, geological, and operational data in abstracted format for about 200 mineral deposits representing 16 commodities that are considered to be important to the economies of the United States and Arizona. Each of these commodities is discussed in terms of its history, physical and chemical properties, uses, and occurrence in Arizona. Institutional and infrastructural factors that affect mineral development in Arizona are also presented. These factors include regulation, taxation, and availability of utilities, transportation, and mineral processing facilities.
