Abstract	The report presents data collected by the National Occupational Health Survey of Mining for the magnesite commodity. Three magnesite mines were included in the survey. Thirteen chemicals were found on mine property that were regulated by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). No chemicals were found which had a NIOSH recommended exposure limit. Altogether, 96 trade named products were identified to which workers were potentially exposed. Potential exposures to noise, segmental vibration, whole body vibration and process related temperatures were noted. Ten possible musculoskeletal conditions which could arise among workers in this industry were identified. Three welding processes, arc welding, oxyfuel gas cutting, and oxyacetylene welding, were observed to be used at these locations.
