PB90127838

Publication Date 1989
Page Count 36
Abstract The report describes U.S. traumatic occupational fatalities for the 6-year period from 1980 through 1985. The Division of Safety Research of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has constructed a database as part of its National Traumatic Occupational Fatality project. This database contains information from death certificates for work-related deaths recorded in the U.S. since the beginning of 1980. Deaths at the national and state levels, as well as by occupation and industry, and characteristics of fatally injured workers are also described. Tables indicate which industries in each state have a high risk of fatal injury at work.
