National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract	Described are reports and articles published by the Bureau of Mines during the period January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1984. Abstracts are included for each item in a regular Bureau series such as Bulletins, Handbooks, Information Circulars, Mineral Issues, Mineral Perspectives, Reports of Investigations, and Special Publications, as well as for contract and unpublished reports such as Open File Reports, Mineral Institutes Reports, and Mineral Land Assessments. The volume also contains a listing of Patents issued to the Bureau of Mines during the period, with instructions on how to apply for permission to use them; information for ordering out-of-stock publications from the National Technical Information Service; a comprehensive listing of depository libraries and regional depository libraries where out-of-print publications can be found; and descriptions of articles written by Bureau employees that have been published in outside journals.
