Abstract |
A history of the Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety was presented along with an overview of the administration of the center. Accomplishments at the center were described. Topics included: previously existing programs in industrial hygiene, industrial safety, and the institute of agricultural medicine and environmental health; the development of the new programs including those in continuing education, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine at the Mayo Clinic, and occupational medicine at the St. Paul-Ramsey Medical Center; and a summary of activities by means of the academic record of those attending the university, continuing education and outreach record and other accomplishments. Continuing education and outreach activities for the period of September 1980 to December of 1982 were included. Data were provided on the number of full time students enrolled in the center for occupational health and safety academic program by year and the number receiving a NIOSH scholarship. A suggested plan of study was presented. |
