Abstract |
The report describes the findings of Westat's survey of Public Housing Authorities, child care providers, and PHA residents. Chapter 2 outlines the methodology and sample design used in the study. Chapter 3 summarizes the findings compiled from case studies of a nationally representative sample of 16 PHAs and 44 of the child care centers located in their facilities. The chapter focuses on the first three of the objectives, with particular emphasis on the nature of the child care services being provided (e.g., how the center was started, who is being served, what is the role being played by PHAs and other agencies, etc.) and attempts to point out important commonalities and variations. |
