PB87189213

Publication Date 1982
Personal Author Barash, M.
Page Count 72
Abstract The report discusses an electro-optical device which permits rapid hand feeding of parts into a press and allows the press control to recognize when a hand is clear of the danger area and automatically strokes. The paper further discusses considerations for assessing the safety of automatically activated, hand fed machines as well as the quality, reliability, and safety of individual system components. The system integration of these components is given major cosideration. The issue of liability is also covered.
