Abstract |
The document presents the best current practices for the installation and maintenance of three types of traffic detectors. These detectors include the widely used inductive loop detector, the magnetometer and the magnetic detector. This field manual consolidates information that has been available to the engineering profession for some time. Included are some innovative installation techniques for all three types of detectors which are currently being used throughout the country. This manual is intended for use by technicians and as a field reference. |
