Abstract The laboratory results of the bulk samples taken off the wall board and ceiling tile in the National Science Foundation Building at 1800 G Street N.W., Washington, D.C., showed that each material contained less than one percent (1%) asbestos. No health hazard would be encountered during demolition of the wall and ceiling. However, an asbestos-containing material called 'Ready Mix Joint Compound' is being used there. This compound should not be used and a material that does not contain asbestos should be substituted.
