Abstract	Potash concentrate is used as an agricultural fertilizer material, typically at grades in excess of 95 pct KCl (potassium chloride). The term 'potash' is commonly accepted to include KCl, potassium sulfate, and certain mixed salts that include magnesium as well as potassium. The primary application of these products is agricultural use. At present, the largest producer in market economy countries is Canada and production is intended almost entirely for export. The balance of the market economy production outside the United States is accounted for by Europe and the Near East (specifically, through brine recovery from the Dead Sea). This report summarizes studies completed on potash under contract and is presented as a project overview.
