Abstract This is a report of the last two years of this grant testing the validity of scores on the Specialty Board Examination for Emergency Medicine Physicians developed during the first two years in predicting physician performance in practice. The method used was the chart stimulated recall which proved a reasonably reliable, valid and unobtrusive measure of physician performance and along with the scores on Part II of the Specialty Board Examination are valid predictors of the quality of patient care.
