| Abstract |
From October 1980 through February 1981, personal and area environmental samples were obtained and each gin's personal protective program reviewed. The pesticide residue-laden materials analyzed indicated various levels of DEF, Folex, Lorsban, methyl parathion, and Azodrin. One of the 25 personal nuisance dust samples (10.55 mg/cu m) exceeded the 10 mg/cu m criteria established for the survey. The noise surveys showed significantly high noise exposures (range 82.0-98.6 dBA) to each of the jobs evaluated, with only outside gin operators having exposures below 85 dBA. |
