Abstract The Occupational Hazard Survey of the Mining Industry (OHSMI) is a project of the National Institue for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The OHSMI was envisioned as a complement to the general industry-oriented National Occupational Hazard Surveys (NOHS I and II). The specific objective was to develop a statistical sampling strategy for selecting and surveying active mine sites.
