Hydrogen Engine Induction Technique for Backfire-Free Operation.

PB83205443

Publication Date 1982
Personal Author Baker, N.; Lynch, F.
Page Count 47
Abstract Details are given of a fuel-induction system for a hydrogen-fueled engine. The induction system was designed to preclude backfire otherwise common in hydrogen-fueled engines. System features and test data are presented and discussed in the context of the requirements peculiar to use in an underground mine environment. The fuel induction-system, when tested in conjunction with a modified Caterpillar 3304 engine, provided backfire-free engine operation and satisfactory engine performance.
