Abstract Increased application and interest in the use of microseismic monitoring to deal with ground control problems, particularly those resulting in violent failures, has brought about the need for practical guidelines with respect to all phases of microseismic monitoring. This report presents the results of an 18-month effort to review the microseismic method and develop needed practical guidelines.
