Abstract The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) sponsored a symposium 'Occupational Safety Research Specifically Related to Personal Protection,' January 10 and 11, 1974, in Cincinnati, Ohio. The meeting provided an opportunity for Institute scientists and investigators supported by NIOSH grants and contracts to present and discuss research findings. As a result of the meeting, a better focus was obtained on research which should lead to the increased protection of the American worker.
