Abstract The production and use of natural zeolites are described. Chemical and physical properties, domestic sites of occurrence, mining quantities and processes, uses, potential biologic effects, and its presence as a contaminant in other ores are considered. The feasibility of conducting a cohort mortality study is addressed, and facilities for industrial hygiene or epidemiological study are recommended.
