Abstract The Tier II mutagenic screening of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane (79345) (TCE) was conducted. The unscheduled DNA synthesis (UDS) assay was conducted with human embryonic intestinal cells, rat liver S9, and 1.3 to 15,869 micrograms per milliliter TCE. The author concludes that TCE was not tested to the limits of these assays and that they should be repeated.
