Abstract |
Air sampling for asbestos (1332214) was conducted at the Pittsburgh Corning Company (SIC-3631) in Tyler, Texas on January 14 and 15, 1970. All sampling was performed with a membrane filter. Samples contained 33.8 to 37.5 fibers greater than 5 microns in length per cubic centimeter (f/cc) in the mixing area, 21.1 to 34.2f/cc in forming operations, 31.0f/cc in the curing area; 25.0 to 52.6f/cc in the finishing work area, 0.2 to 17.1f/cc in inspection and packing operations, and 13.1 to 14.5f/cc in miscellaneous work areas. Most samples exceeded the 1969 Threshold Limit Value of 12.0f/cc. |
