Vinyl Chloride in Air.

PB83104778

Publication Date 1974
Page Count 18
Abstract NIOSH method 178 for the analysis of vinyl-chloride (75014) (VC) in air is described. The method involves sample collection through charcoal tubes, desorption with carbon-disulfide, and analysis by gas chromatography. Analytical equipment, reagents, sampling and analysis procedures, calibration, standards preparation, and VC concentration calculations are listed. Interferences due to humidity and other substances in the sample also are noted. The range of the method is 0.2 to 1500 nanograms; precision was not determined, but is limited by the reproducibility of the pressure drop across the charcoal tubes.
