Abstract |
Instructor manual for a one week 'Industrial Hygiene Chemistry' course, designed to give program graduates expertise in environmental sampling and analysis. Lesson 11 encompasses operation and calibration of an atomic absorption spectrophotometer for the purpose of quantitating the amounts of metals (lead) collected on filters such as cellulose membranes. Details are given on preparation of aqueous calibration standards, preparation of samples for analysis, optimization of atomic absorption spectrophotometer operating parameters for lead, and calculation and interpretation of results. |
