Abstract Worker exposures to asbestos (1332214) were surveyed at the Abex Corporation, American Brakeblock Division (SIC-3714) in Winchester, Virginia, from February 7 to 11, 1972. The mean number of fibers greater than 5 microns per field (f/f) ranged from 0.30 to 3.75f/f. The mean concentration of fibers greater than 5 microns in length per milliliter (f/ml) ranged from 0.45 to 3.73f/ml. The difference between left and right paired samples in mean number of fibers greater than 5 microns per field ranged from 0 to 120 percent.
