Abstract Dust concentration was measured at the Johns-Manville Company (SIC-2283), in Marshville, North Carolina, in December, 1967. Sampling was performed with a membrane filter. The breathing zone membrane filter samples ranged from 107.7 to 0.0 fibers per cubic centimeter (f/cc) for the card tender and slubber operator, respectively. The personal membrane filter samples ranged from 48.9 to 0.1 (f/cc) for the card tender and inspector, respectively.
