Abstract Worker exposures to asbestos (1332214) were surveyed at the Johns-Manville Asbestos Textile Facility (SIC-2661) in Manville, New Jersey, during January, 1965. All samples were collected with a membrane filter. Samples with fiber sizes greater than 5 microns in length ranged from 1.6 to 23.5 fibers per cubic centimeter (f/cc) for carding operations; 4.8 to 10.6f/cc for spinning operations; unmeasurable to 22.4f/cc for twisting work; unmeasurable to 22.6f/cc for the weaving work area; and from 3.9 to 10.lf/cc for fiber preparation operations.
