Bicycle-Safe Grate Inlets Study. Volume 5. Hydraulic Design of General Slotted Drain Inlets.

PB81210742

Publication Date 1980
Personal Author Pugh, C. A.
Page Count 149
Abstract Additional tests were conducted on slotted drain inlets to extend design equations to a wider range of field installations. Total flow capture tests and partial flow interception tests were conducted for a range of slot widths, curb to slot distances, back slope, longitudinal slopes, and cross slopes. Design procedures are presented for slots with solid vertical transverse bars at 6-in (152.4mm) spacing in the form of graphs and equations.
