National Occupational Hazard Survey. Volume II. Data Editing and Data Base Development.

PB274819

Publication Date 1977
Page Count 156
Abstract The Hazard and Disease Task Force, established in early 1971 by the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, identified a need for more detailed information on the distribution of potential employee exposures to chemical substances and physical hazards in industries regulated under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The National Occupational Hazard Survey (NOHS) was a national data gathering effort designed to provide baseline descriptive information on potential occupational exposures. Such information would enable NIOSH to better define the potential for occupational health problems in specific industries and occupations. Volume II of the three-volume final report on NOHS deals with the statistical design of the survey and the projection algorithm, the editing and expansion of data files, the data base system analysis, and the generalized retrieval systems.
