National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Documentation of the NIOSH Validation Tests.

PB274248

Publication Date 1977
Personal Author Taylor, D. G.; Kupel, R. E.; Bryant, J. M.
Page Count 1290
Abstract Document dealing specifically with the means by which NIOSH validated existing sampling and analytical procedures for monitoring employee exposure for each of the chemicals covered by the existing environmental exposure standards. Detailed information concerning laboratory evaluations is provided. The evaluation information in 216 individual Backup Data Reports provides detailed information on the laboratory procedure and data from the validation. In addition, an introduction to the program and the statistical protocol used are also presented. The purpose of the validation program is to provide accurate personal sampling and analytical techniques in monitoring for non-compliance to the standard by OSHA, but it does not attempt to designate the sole procedure by which all worker exposure measurements must be done. The technical information presented supports the validation of the 216 sampling and analytical procedures by NIOSH.
