PB274236

Publication Date 1976
Page Count 108
Abstract The booklet describes university and college programs in occupational health, and industrial and environmental health sciences, supported by training grant funds. Training grant funds are used to support, strengthen, and extend training at educational institutions not only in the traditional occupational safety and health disciplines but also in innovative programs which prepare new types of specialists as exemplified by the Occupational Safety and Health Professional. Paraprofessional and technician training and curriculum development in keeping with the mission of the NIOSH are considered appropriate activities for training grant support. There are 19 universities offering degree programs in industrial hygiene, 10 offering programs in occupational safety, 5 in occupational nursing, 4 in occupational medicine, 4 in occupational safety and health technology, and 2 in related fields.
