National Technical Reports Library - NTRL

National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Relationships between Several Prominent Heat Stress Indices.

PB274228

Publication Date 1976
Personal Author Jensen, R. C.; Heins, D. A.
Page Count 240
Abstract The report presents correlations developed by NIOSH to provide a tool for comparing results of studies relating human responses to various environmental heat levels which have been used to describe the environmental heat level to which subjects were exposed. The five indices of environmental heat stress that are correlated with each other are corrected effective temperature (CET), effective temperature corrected for radiation (ETCR), wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT), wet globe temperature (WGT), and the Belding-Hatch Stress Index (HSI).
