| Abstract |
A charcoal tube sampling procedure and a gas chromatographic analytical technique are used in collaborative testing of activated charcoal sampling tubes for benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, dioxane, ethylene dichloride, trichloroethylene, meta-xylene, and two solvent mixtures. The study helps in fulfilling NIOSH's responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 for the development of sampling and analytical procedures for toxic compounds for which standards have been set. Results indicate the overall error associated with the method and identify sources of error within each segment of the method. |
