Abstract This report is the result of the field investigations to locate prehistoric sites in the area of the Corps of Engineers flood control program construction in the Luxapalila Creek - in the area of Lowndes County, Mississippi and Lamar County, Alabama. The investigations consisted of reconnaissance, survey, report of survey, site descriptions, classification and description of artifacts, and evaluation of site significance. The report combines the survey data, with the existing archaeological research and makes recommendations regarding the future treatment of the archaeological resources in the area.
