Summary of Hydraulic Backfill Operations in Selected Underground Mines. Coeur d'Alene Mining District, Idaho.

PB259209

Publication Date 1976
Page Count 187
Abstract This report determines the economic potential for reducing the direct mining costs for cut-and-fill mining where hydraulic backfill is placed more effectively in the mined portion of the stope. Four mines in the Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, mining district were selected for study. Techniques currently used for backfill classification, transportion, and placement were defined and a work-cost analysis for the design, development, and maintenance of a typical stope was conducted.
