Abstract	The meeting provided an opportunity for presentation and discussion of current research related to fibrous glass exposure. Its primary purpose was to fill the previously identified gaps in NIOSH's knowledge of the health effects of fibrous glass exposure, including long-term effects of exposure to small-diameter fibers and their mechanism of action. Included were sessions on the technology of fibrous glass, physical and aerodynamic properties; environmental measurements of airborne fibrous glass; biologic effects; and epidemiologic studies. Edited proceedings of the symposium are presented.
