Abstract	This report compares the estimated cost of mining asbestos in Alaska with the estimated cost of mining a similarly sized asbestos mine at Clinton Creek in the Yukon Territory 55 miles to the east. It points out factors that contribute to the cost of mining in each locality and any differences that exist. Capital and operating costs are determined using the Clinton Creek operation of Cassiar Asbestos Corp., Ltd., as a model.
