Graham Burke Pumping Plant, White River, Backwater Levee Project, Arkansas.

PB202305D

Publication Date 1971
Page Count 13
Abstract A pumping plant was constructed for the evacuation of impounded runoff and seepage during periods when stages on the White River will not permit gravity drainage from the area. If the water in the sump area is allowed to become too high, some low lying farmland will become inundated or too wet to be farmed. If the water level becomes too low there would be a direct effect on the number of waterfowl attracted to the area. The effect on air and water quality is considered to be insignificant.
