Abstract The Natural Resources Center in conjunction with the Water Resources and Coastal Area Management Units of the Department of Environmental Protection undertook a study utilizing a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to assess potential flood hazards in Connecticut's coastal communities. The study produced an inventory of residential, commercial and riverine flood zones and examined municipal flood preparedness measures.
