Abstract The National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC) is a longitudinal survey with its first wave fielded in 2001-2002. This document describes NESARCs second wave (Wave 2), which was fielded in 2004-2005 using the same respondents. The Census Bureau conducted the field work for this survey under the direction of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), an agency of the National Institutes of Health, Department of Health and Human Services. Data collection for Wave 2 began in August 2004 and was completed by September 2005 via computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI).
