Abstract	The statement is concerned with a proposed highway project which will be a KY 15 bypass of the city of Hazard, Kentucky. Referred to as Corridor 2, it is a segment of the Appalachian development highway system and will be a four-lane facility, about 21/4 miles in length. It has been determined that the project would require the taking of approximately 37 residences (5 unoccupied) and 2 businesses, and would displace approximately 32 families. The location of this arterial route through the residential 'Yard Section' will increase to some extent the ambient noise level for its residents. Construction will adversely alter the character of the area to some extent because of the cuts and fills which are required.
