Toxicity and Health Hazard Summary with Cover Letters. Alkyl Phthalates and Dicyclohexyl Phthalate.

OTS0206525

Publication Date 1984
Page Count 32
Abstract This compound is at most only slightly toxic in rats having a LD50 both orally and intraperitoneally of >3200 mg/kg. In mice the oral LD50 is >3200 while the intraperitoneal LD50 is1600 mg/kg, When held in content with depilated skin of guinea pigs, it proved to be a slight skin irritant, and there was no definite evidence of toxic effects caused by skin application. Several crystals dropped into the conjunctival sac of a rabbit's eye caused only slight irritation and no corneal damage. The material is not a sensitizer in guinea pigs.
