Abstract	The equipment used in the experimental measurements of very small black powder propulsion systems is described, giving particular attention to the approach used for the determination of thrust as a function of time. A diagram is shown of the circuit used for the recording of the force. The thrust characteristics of a number of very small propulsion units are considered.
