Abstract The results of the Greenwich Time and Latitude Service for the period of January to March 1972 inclusive are reported. Explanations of the terms used are given. Commencing on 1en1 Jan. 1972 in accordance with international agreements the standard frequency and time service emissions were adjusted so that the time signals differ from the International Atomic Time Scale by an integral number of seconds. The rate is in agreement with the International Time Scale so that time intervals conform to the definition of the SI second. (Author)
