National Technical Reports Library

The National Technical Information Service acquires, indexes, abstracts, and archives the largest collection of U.S. government-sponsored technical reports in existence. The NTRL offers online, free and open access to these authenticated government technical reports. Technical reports and documents in its repository may be available online for free either from the issuing federal agency, the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s Federal Digital System website, or through search engines.

Abstract The magnitudes and colors are given for 900 stars brighter than magnitude 5.0 in the Revised Haravard Photometry and south of +10 deg declination, reduced to the UBV system of 1966. Weighted mean v magnitudes and B-V colors based on the best series available up to the end of 1966 are tabulated and are believed to provide a consistent system over the southern sky. The U-B data are given for most of the stars and are reasonable consistent for single main sequence stars earlier than spectral type G and for normal giants of the later types. There are appreciable differences for some stars, and individual values are included for them. (Author)
