Abstract	The proposed Aua to Afono Road is part of the Territorial Highway System for Tutuila in Sua County on north central Tutuila Island. It will provide a new 2-lane paved road between Aua and Afono. The project begins at the south side of village of Aua and runs north eastward to an ending in the village of Afono. Approximately length of this project is 2.8 miles. Environmental impact for the project includes conversion of some agricultural and forest lands into road use. It will introduce motor vehicles into villages where none now exist, thus adding noise and air pollution to the area. The ease of accessibility to the now isolated villages will introduce more visitors and strangers to the villages. The providing of a basic road net on the island is essential to the development of American Samoa as a self-sufficient territory.
